There are so many foods that we, as humans, love, will eat with vigor at any given opportunity. Some of my favorite foods include, roast beef, mashed potatoes, ice cream, corn dogs, and pork. Whenever I've had pork, there is a tendency for it to be a little fatty, and that does pose some problems for us. If it can cause potential health problems for us, then you can only imagine what risks such food as fatty pork can do to a smaller organism, like a cat. You should avoid feeding your cat fatty pork, because if you do, then you could succeed in protecting your cat from serious health hazards.
Whenever we, or our pets for that matter, ingest anything, our body proceeds to process that matter, and break it down into smaller, easier to digest particles. When the particles are more easily distributed, then our bodies receive the nutrients from our food, and we hopefully, receive what we need to survive. Our pets are the same way. Their bodies break down the nutrients and parts of food into easier to digest substances that give animals what they need.
Our bodies, and our pets' bodies, break down just about everything, and that includes fat. Fat can be broken down, and so the fat that your cat ingests needs to be the kind that can break down easily, so as to preserve the health of your cat. For cats, pork fat is not that kind of fat. Pork fat doesn't break down into tiny particles, like other fats, and the globs of fat can block a cat's blood vessels. This category of pork fat also extends to fat from bacon. (Bacon is especially bad because it contains sodium nitrate, a preservative considered hazardous to cats.)
You don't want your cat to experience serious health problems, and so you need to watch its diet. If you're not feeding it the food you should, then change that right away, and make sure that what you are feeding your cat is what it should be eating. You want your cat to be as healthy as possible so you can enjoy it. By feeding it food that it can easily digest and by avoiding food that is sure to clog arteries, you'll be prolonging its life, making you and your cat happier and grateful!
